International Education Rubric for Ohio Schools

Ohio educators may find this rubric useful in evaluating the degree to which they are preparing students for the interconnected world of the 21st century.
Boxes in the column on the left side of the table describe basic levels of international education while boxes on the right describe more advanced levels to which schools might aspire. 

Checklist for global competence

Educators from John Standford International School in Seattle, Washington, have provided this resource and tool for teaching global education based on the four competencies. Very thorough and easy to use, This is an excellent place to start.

Global Education Checklist

Fred Czarra's checklist splits global competence into three categories: global issues, global culture, and global connections.  Each of these topics can be applied to all subjects and disciplines in classrooms, districts, and states.

This amazing resource from Asia Society provides  rationales, "I can" statements, performance outcomes, and rubrics that demonstrate academic content areas as global competencies.  Find your subject area or pursue others to create cross-curricular experiences.
